About Edinburgh
Edinburgh is the thriving capital of Scotland with
a population of 490,000. It has become one of Europe’s major
financial centres. It is a
major tourist city with film, jazz fringe, book and international
festivals in August and the celebrated New Year celebrations
that are broadcast around the world.
Over the medium term Edinburgh’s population is expected to
expand by 50,000. The new Scottish parliament is based in
Edinburgh and there is an economic boom with very low unemployment.
Over the last decade house prices have increased
substantially and
in the medium term further growth is anticipated.
The letting market remains buoyant particularly in the professional
market for quality 1 bedroom properties and for students looking
for 3 plus bedrooms within close proximity to universities.
Student lets are normally for 12 months duration with single
rooms achieving around £300 PCM with properties offering
separate lounge facilities achieving higher rental rates.
